Why are you running for this office?
To help the town of Clinton ,bring sound business development in to our community through better Planning & Zoning. Bring common sense to the regulations, enforce them fairly and investigate all issues fairly / without bias. Protect the neighborhood , find the CORRECT location for the correct business.
What is the most pressing local issue facing your community and how would you solve it (within the capacity of the office for which you are running)?
The most pressing local issues is the HIGH taxes that the citizens of Clinton are paying...this year the taxes went up 10.2% and may go up again later this year. The Planning & Zoning Commission can be an positive influence with bring business into town that pay taxes and thus reduce the taxed burden on the home owner. I am NEW Candidate for P & Z bring a Fresh NEW start to the commission. VOTE 15 B on November 7th.
With the state's ongoing budget crisis looming over the election, what are your plans for your community's budget? Is there anything you can do make your town less dependent on revenue from the state?
Help bring in NEW BUSINESS / DEVELOPMENT INTO CLINTON TO REDUCE TAXES. Find a business to move into the old Unilever / Ponds manufacturing facility, that has been vacant since 2013.
The legislature has been debating various ideas to allow towns to raise revenue locally through something other than property taxes. If you could ease your residents' property tax burden by adding another method of taxation, is there anything you might consider for your town?
