Why are you running for this office?
To help Brooklyn maintain it's financial stability through controlled growth while keeping our country charm.
What is the most pressing local issue facing your community and how would you solve it (within the capacity of the office for which you are running)?
The decline of State revenue. We need to continue to share/consolidate services with other towns.
With the state's ongoing budget crisis looming over the election, what are your plans for your community's budget? Is there anything you can do make your town less dependent on revenue from the state?
See above. We presently purchase/share accounting systems, animal control services, revaluation services, transit, highway equipment, emergency dispatch and paramedic intercept programs with other towns. We are exploring things such as regional assessor, social service, back office functions and many more.
The legislature has been debating various ideas to allow towns to raise revenue locally through something other than property taxes. If you could ease your residents' property tax burden by adding another method of taxation, is there anything you might consider for your town?
I'm not sure Brooklyn is large enough to raise any meaningful revenue on it's own. Perhaps we could do something regionally.
Are you in favor of regionalizing more services in conjunction with other nearby communities? If so, which ones?
above list. Plus, Household Hazardous waste pickup
Should your school district get the same amount of education funding from the state if your district's enrollment is dropping?
We should have a formula that is lived up to. It can fluctuate with changing enrollment. We need a fair system that produces predictable results so that we can budget over a longer period of time.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I'm a yankee/giants fan in redsox/patriot's country.
